| Hip Hop, the Hidden Hand, and the Degradation of Black Masculinity" Source Materials (incomplete) |
| Greetings, Here is an incomplete list of source material as presented in my "Hip Hop, the Hidden Hand, and the Degradation of Black Masculinity" lecture series. I say incomplete in that this list will surely increase over time. I must also apologize in that the Source Material listed below is not well organized. Credit is given within the list of source material to all researchers and producers whose research or work I have quoted or displayed. This being said I only endorse the source material that I actually site or display in my lecture series. My use of source material should not be considered as a full endorsement of any given researcher or producer. I have received numerous email complaints concerning the full body of work of particular researchers/producers credited within the Source Material List. Please understand that my sourcing of any given researcher/producer does not imply that I fully support everything proposed by any given researcher/producer. As stated before I only endorse the source material that I actually site or display in my lecture series. This being said I ask that I not be sent email complaints concerning the credited researcher's / producer's full body of work. Special thanks to Brother Kwesi (Shades of Afrika) for conceptualizing this lecture series. I must also thank everyone whose work has functioned as inspiration to my lecture series, especially Keidi Obi Awadu whose work on the entertainment industry is quoted throughout the lecture series, Dr. Llaila Afrika for his seminal work on fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and the manipulation of the cultural identity of black children, Steve Cokely for his ground breaking exposes on the Black Boule, Dr. Phil Valentine for his lectures on black masculinity, Khalil for his documentaries as seen at "foreverand2day", and Bill for his videos as seen at "The industry exposed". The Source Material list below functions to provide both alternative resources for exploration as well as a scholastic means of crediting those researchers and producers whose work appears in "Hip Hop, the Hidden Hand, and the Degradation of Black Masculinity". Thanks to everyone for your support. Peace, -Lenon Honor |
